A software message, not a worn part
Most dryer error codes name a failing component. E9 is different: the display is saying that the PB and UI software versions are not compatible. It is listed for the TD85.11XX and TD86, both current series.
What the manual offers
Turn the dryer off and on again.
If E9 comes back, arrange a technician visit. That is the only response given.
Dial (415) 993-3547 and report that the display shows E9, along with the model. Our Asko dryer repair page covers dryer visits.
Model compatibility: Asko reuses codes across series and model years, so E9 may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
Plain language
What this code means
E9 means the PB and UI software versions are not compatible.
Important safety warning. Do not attempt repairs involving electrical components, water lines, sealed cooling systems or anything behind a panel. Unplug the appliance if it is safe to reach the outlet, and leave internal diagnostics to a qualified technician.
