What E1 tells you
When the display of an Asko dryer shows E1, the machine is reporting that its temperature sensor, called a thermistor, has failed. Owners of the TD86 may see the same fault written as E1.1, E1.2 or E1.3.
Shown as: E1, or E1.1 to E1.3 on the TD86
Manual’s name for it: thermistor error
Fault: temperature sensor failure
Series: TD85.11XX and TD86, both current
Steps in order
Bring up the written description. On the TD85.11XX press INFO; on the TD86 press and hold OK.
Turn the dryer off, then switch it on again.
Should E1 appear once more, the next step is a technician visit.
Asko dryer service in San Francisco and the Bay Area
A dryer that keeps returning to E1 after a restart is ready for a technician visit. Call (415) 993-3547 and tell us the code, the model number and that you already switched the dryer off and on. Background on our work is under Asko dryer repair.
Model compatibility: Asko reuses codes across series and model years, so E1, E1.1, E1.2, E1.3 may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
Plain language
What this code means
E1 is a thermistor error, a failure of the dryer temperature sensor.
Important safety warning. Do not attempt repairs involving electrical components, water lines, sealed cooling systems or anything behind a panel. Unplug the appliance if it is safe to reach the outlet, and leave internal diagnostics to a qualified technician.
