Closed door, no lock: what E22 and E22.1 report
Both labels stand for the same door lock error. The door is shut, yet the washer cannot lock it. The wording appears in manuals for the WM85.1 and the WM75.B.
Your sequence
Push the door shut again.
Switch the washing machine off.
Begin the washing program once more.
If E22 appears yet again, the manual points to a technician visit.
Our Bay Area crew takes door lock calls through Asko washer repair and at (415) 993-3547. Before calling, write down which of the two codes was shown, the model number, and the close, switch-off and restart sequence you went through.
Model compatibility: Asko reuses codes across series and model years, so E22 and E22.1 may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.

What this code means
E22 and E22.1 report a door lock error where the door is closed but cannot be locked.
Important safety warning. Do not attempt repairs involving electrical components, water lines, sealed cooling systems or anything behind a panel. Unplug the appliance if it is safe to reach the outlet, and leave internal diagnostics to a qualified technician.
