Frequently asked questions
We repair only Asko dishwashers, washers, dryers, drying cabinets, wine climate cabinets, induction cooktops and wall ovens, including combi-steam ovens. We do not work on refrigerators, ranges, hoods or microwaves.
We serve San Francisco and the wider Bay Area: the city neighborhoods, the peninsula, the South Bay, Marin, the East Bay and the wine counties. Every town we cover is listed on the service areas page.
Visits run Monday to Saturday, from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Send your request through the contact page and we will confirm a time window with you. Tell us if the building has an entry code, a doorman, or restricted street parking, so the technician can plan the arrival properly.
The technician reads the code, asks what the appliance did before it failed, and inspects both the machine and its installation. You then get a written estimate. Nothing is repaired until you approve it.
The estimate is written down before any work begins, so you know the terms before you decide. Ask about the details when you request the visit, and we will explain how the diagnosis step is handled.
Look first at the door edge or inner tub rim of a dishwasher, then the door opening of a washer or dryer. Drying cabinets usually carry it inside the door, wine cabinets inside a wall, cooktops underneath and ovens on the door frame. A clear photo of the label speeds up the request and helps us match the right guide before we arrive.
Asko appliances show F-numbers or E-numbers, and wine cabinets use short letter-and-digit codes. The meaning depends on the appliance family, so look it up in the error code library under the right family, and write the code down before any reset.
One controlled power reset is a reasonable owner check: switch it off at the breaker or unplug it, wait, then restore power. If the same code returns, do not repeat the reset again and again. Book a diagnosis instead.
Stay on the outside of the appliance. Look at whether it has power, whether a breaker or GFCI outlet has tripped, and whether the door closes against a clean gasket. Filters and drain screens are yours to clean, a kinked hose can be straightened, and a supply valve can be opened. Opening panels or testing circuits is a technician’s job, and a few minutes of simple checking is enough before you ask for help.
Often the first cause is blocked lint or condenser filters, or a full water container. Clean the filters and empty the container, then run another cycle. A tightly packed closet can also trap warm air around the dryer. If clothes are still damp afterward, the dryer needs a technician, and our dryer guides cover the usual causes in order.
A vented dryer does, and a restricted duct or a stuck hood flap is a common reason for long cycles. A heat pump dryer needs no outside vent because moisture is condensed and either pumped away or collected, which is why it suits condos and flats where venting through a wall is difficult.
Wait a short while, since the door latch can stay engaged briefly. If it stays locked, check that the washer has drained, clean the drain pump filter and read any code. Do not force the door; book a visit if it persists.
For gas, leave the building, avoid switches, and call the gas utility or 911 from outside. For a burning smell or sparks, switch the appliance off at the breaker and stop using it until it has been diagnosed.
It depends on the fault, the availability of parts, how the appliance has served you and what a replacement would involve in a tight cutout or closet. After the diagnosis you will have the written estimate in hand, and our repair-or-replace guide lists the factors to weigh. Nothing is repaired before you say yes.
Yes. We handle requests for rental units, condo buildings and in-law units. Each visit produces a written estimate that can be shared with the owner or the building manager, and approval comes from whoever makes decisions for the property.
Someone should be there to give access, describe the problem and approve the estimate. Nothing is repaired without approval, so a reachable decision-maker is needed on the day. A tenant can let the technician in while the owner approves by message.
